Who we are

We are a scientific and technological development company that provides solutions in the prevention and mitigation of human and economic losses due to the occurrence of landslides (and other natural hazards such as floods or earthquakes). Staying on top of recent research and reliable methods for landslide hazard zonation, risk assessment for infrastructure projects, and monitoring and defining thresholds for landslide early warning systems, we provide different alternatives with elevated scientific rigor and transparency.

LandScient was founded by Roberto J. Marin in 2020 after several scientific developments and participation in natural hazard assessment projects in Colombia (South America) as researcher, developer and adviser.

The company has carried out many research projects, mainly related to landslide assessment. Many of them are published in top international scientific journals (e.g. Landslides, Geomorphology, Engineering Geology, Catena, Georisk).
